- Facebook app id is missing – Facebook needs an app id to connect your Facebook platform with your website.
- You have not set any featured images for your post thumbnail
How to debug the issue of Facebook images not showing on sharing?
Go to Facebook debug tool and check the reason. Almost all people faced getting the same error ” the following required properties are missing: fb:app_id ” .This issue says that your website needs a Facebook app id in order to connect Facebook data. If you are getting this issue then you must try this link.
I am assuming that you are using Yoast SEO plugin. You need to use the same procedure for the rest of the SEO plugin.
Steps to fix incorrect facebook thumbnail issue on sharing post.
- Get Facebook app id
- You need to paste the facebook app id in your SEO plugin.
- Then click on scrape images in the facebook debug tool and debug again.
For example, if you are Using the Yoast plugin then you need to follow this path SEO<<SOCIAL<< FACEBOOK<< Then paste the Your Facebook app id.
How To set featured images for your post thumbnail In SEO Yoast Plugin
Inside your post and pages, you need to scroll down to the meta description box. Now click on the Social tab in the Yoast plugin. There you will find 3 option
- Facebook Title
- Facebook Description
- Facebook Image
Fill Facebook title, meta description Data in Yoast SEO social and upload Your featured thumbnail. And then click on publish
Note: For Facebook, the thumbnail recommended image size is 1200 by 630 pixels.
Now go to the Facebook developer tool click on scrape images then click on debug.
And Now bingo no more issue related to Facebook Thumbnail not loading Issue in WordPress Website
